Petroleum Coke Industries Company (PCIC)

    Project Name:
    Analogue Addressable Fire Alarm Systems
    Project overview:
Designed and Installed Fire Alarm and Detection System

Petroleum Coke Industries Company (PCIC) is one of the largest single Kiln Coke Calciner in the world with a capacity to produce 350,000 MT of Calcined Petroleum Coke.  The PCIC’s new plant is constructed inside the Shuaiba port having a total area of 263,000 M² to facilitate logistical advantage and is used for export purpose.
PCIC’s plant consits of 22 buildings each having its own hazardous cetegory.
The PCIC main objective was to have separate fire alarm and detection systems for each building which should be linked all together in a single monitoring graphic system.
Our team designed and installed a fire alarm and detection system between conventional, explosion proof and linear heat detection systems which could easily link to an addressable fire alarm detection system and could be easily monitored via a single graphic system.
Our qualified engineering heads studied the various types of hazard and chose the correct detection system and linked each individual system with one main addressable system connected to a graphic system.
In the unlikely event of any fire or faults PCIC’s plant operators can identify its exact location inside any of the 22 buildings from one central location (Main Control Room) thereby reducing the manpower required to monitor different activities at each buildings separately . Centralized monitoring has further improved response time during such emergencies.
